Tender chicken breasts coated in a creamy ranch sauce made with sour cream, garlic, and ranch seasoning. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable stock
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1.5 tbsp ranch seasoning

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1.5 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter, add minced garlic, and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in flour to create a roux, cooking 1–2 minutes.
  5. Gradually add stock, whisking to avoid lumps, and bring to a simmer.
  6. Reduce heat and stir in sour cream and ranch seasoning until creamy.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet and coat with ranch sauce. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste; extra ranch seasoning intensifies flavor.
