Ingredients

  • 1 can of pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (or alternative like pesto/Alfredo)
  • 6-8 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 12-18 slices pepperoni (or alternative protein/veggies)
  • Optional: fresh basil or olive oil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Roll out pizza dough and slice into six long strips, about 1-2 inches wide.
  4. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on each strip, leaving a small border.
  5. Layer mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  6. Place pepperoni slices on top, half hanging off the dough edge.
  7. Carefully roll each strip into a rose shape and place in the muffin tin.
  8. Bake 12-15 minutes until dough is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly, and garnish with basil or olive oil if desired.

Notes

  • Handle pizza dough gently to avoid tearing.
  • Use a firmer cheese mix if mozzarella melts too quickly.
  • Ensure pepperoni hangs off the dough edge to form rose petals.
  • Store leftovers in airtight container in fridge up to 2 days; reheat for 20-30 seconds in microwave or 5 minutes in oven to crisp.
