Delicious heart-shaped chocolate chip cookies, perfect for Valentine’s Day! Soft in the center with slightly golden edges and gooey chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips (mix of regular and mini)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with a mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in eggs and vanilla until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop ~2 tbsp dough onto baking sheet, spacing 2–3 inches apart.
  7. Bake 9–11 minutes until edges are slightly golden but centers soft.
  8. While hot, use a heart-shaped cutter to cut cookies. Let cool 5–7 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
