Tender chicken breasts layered with savory ham and melted Swiss cheese, finished with a creamy mustard sauce. Perfect for family dinners!

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces chicken breasts, pounded thin
  • 8 slices ham (Black Forest, honey, or Virginia)
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese (or provolone/Gruyère)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 2 eggs, whisked with a splash of water or milk
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs (gluten-free Panko available)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter for pan-frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pound chicken breasts to ¼–½ inch thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up a breading station: flour, whisked eggs, and seasoned Panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in eggs, then coat with Panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Heat oil or butter in skillet and cook chicken 2-3 minutes per side until golden.
  5. Place chicken in a baking dish, top with ham and Swiss cheese, bake 15-20 minutes until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted.
  6. Whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Drizzle creamy mustard sauce over baked chicken and serve.
