Ingredients
2 large onions, sliced into 1/4-inch rings
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups panko breadcrumbs
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Pour buttermilk into a separate bowl.
Dip onion rings in buttermilk, then coat with flour mixture. Return to buttermilk, then dredge in panko breadcrumbs.
Carefully fry onion rings in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
