Spicy Sweet Chicken Diablo features tender chicken coated in a sweet and fiery sauce with garlic, chili, honey, and smoked paprika, perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Β½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1–2 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • ΒΌ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Optional: fresh cilantro or sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through, 6–8 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sautΓ© garlic and chili flakes for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika. Cook 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Return chicken to skillet, tossing to coat evenly in the sauce. Cook 2–3 more minutes until fully glazed.
  4. Garnish with cilantro or green onions if desired. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or vegetables.

Notes

  • Adjust chili flakes to control heat level.
  • For richer flavor, add a small knob of butter to the sauce at the end.
