Honey Butter Chicken is a sweet and savory dish with tender chicken coated in a rich honey butter sauce, perfect over white rice.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 tbsp green onions, sliced
  • 5 tbsp butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, garlic powder, cayenne, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss chicken in mixture to coat.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Lower heat, add 5 tbsp butter. Once melted, stir in honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir sauce over low heat until smooth and caramel-like. Add chicken and coat evenly.
  5. Turn off heat and let chicken rest 5 minutes.
  6. Serve over white rice and garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes

  • Add chili flakes for extra heat.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
